Woodland and Pond Management Workshop

FAYETTE COUNTY, IL    Outdoorsmen and land owners, who want to better manage their woodlands and ponds were invited to a Woodlands and Pond Management Workshop on Saturday, September 26, 2009, on the Fred Bingaman and Pete Burnam farms in Fayette County, Illinois. 



The agenda included “in the field” discussions of:

·        Direct seeding techniques of tree planting

·        Fisheries management

·        Habitat management in woodland and grasslands

·        Pond construction

·        Timber stand improvement (including common invasive species)

·        Timber harvest

The workshop began with registration at 8:30 a.m. and was rained out at 1:30.   

This event was sponsored by the Fayette County Soil and Water Conservation District, Illinois Tree Farmers, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and Post Oak Flats Resource Conservation & Development.
